The agreement

Velondra (https://velondra.com) helps guests find a seat at a home cook’s table. These terms apply when you use the website or the iPhone and Android apps. If you book, cook, or message through Velondra, you agree to them.

  1. A home, not a restaurant. A booking is an invitation to someone’s kitchen. It is not a hotel stay, not delivery, and not a licensed restaurant reservation unless the cook says so in their own words.
  2. You pay the cook at the table. Cash or card, to the person who cooked. Velondra does not take the meal money, does not process that payment, and does not add a platform fee. The ticket total is an agreed amount so you both know what to bring. The cook records what they actually took.
  3. No platform refunds. Because we never hold the meal money, we cannot refund it. If you cannot come, tell the cook as soon as you know. If they already bought the food, talk to them. Disputes about the plate are between guest and cook; we can listen and, if needed, pause an account.
  4. A chair is a promise. Booking reserves seats. It does not charge your card through us. If you no-show, the cook may refuse a later booking. If the cook cancels, they should tell you; you owe them nothing for a night that did not happen.
  5. Food and the law. Cooks tell us they cook what they would serve their own people and they list allergens. Home kitchens follow different rules in different cities. You and the cook are each responsible for showing up kindly and for following the laws that apply to you. Velondra is not the cook, not the landlord, and not a food-safety inspector.
  6. Accounts. Keep your password to yourself. You may sign in with email or, when offered, Apple or Google. Do not book under someone else’s name to dodge a ban.
  7. Not a dating service. Finding someone to eat with is optional and is not a date. You still meet at dinner. Leave if it feels off.
  8. Our role. We provide the listing, booking, and message tools. We may remove a dinner or an account that breaks these terms or puts people at risk. We are not liable for a meal, an allergy event, a theft, or a quarrel in a private home, beyond what the law will not let us disclaim.
  9. Contact. Questions about this agreement: hello@velondra.com or the form on /support.
